"Pictures at an Exhibition"

Michael Mallies Gallery Exhibition

About the Artist

Michael Mallies started learning his craft at the early age of 14. Evening classes were free at his public school in Brooklyn N.Y. His teacher taught him by copying postcards. Later, he recalled Maria Callas called it "straight jacketing". Years later, he studied at New York's School of Visual Arts and then was invited to study at the Art Students League on West 57th Street in Manhattan. The oldest art school in America. The paintings here represent a lifetime of various styles. He has had other showings in New Fairfield Ct. and Savannah Ga. He resides now in Statesboro Ga. with his partner of many years and his dogs, Molly and Emma
